In 2005 I held the world’s first ever telesummit.
Not only that, but I actually coined the term telesummit as a way to name my unique telephone-based multi-day conference…
…AND IT CAUGHT ON!
Thousands of telesummits, and later virtual summits, have been hosted in hundreds of different industries and niches!
A virtual summit has become the go-to strategy for building a list and boosting a business for many coaches, authors, marketers, and entrepreneurs.
Then why have I, the inventor of the original summit, not hosted one myself since 2012?
I had to ask myself this question recently, because I KNOW this strategy works really well! It is truly the FASTEST way to grow your business, income, and impact! In fact, for many people, their summit has become the CORNERSTONE of their business!
Here’s why I haven’t done one myself in 5 years…
Because many virtual summits have become a series of interviews. CRAPPY, boring, long-winded, redundant interviews, that people no longer pay attention to!!
These are the summits that give the name a BAD RAP and make some people believe that “virtual summits are dead.”
But saying that summits are dead is like saying that EVENTS are dead.
Or, that COLLABORATION is dead.
Or, that people wanting to GATHER AND LEARN is dead.
Neither is true, of course.
In fact, virtual summits are going to continue to SPREAD AND GROW, and reach a tipping point where EVERY industry, niche, field, and profession is going to realize the power of virtual conferences!
Because, if done right, a virtual summit can revolutionize your business and put you in the best position for AMAZING growth.
So YES, BAD summits are dead. GOOD summits will thrive, prosper, and expand, because it’s the best way to fast track the success and growth of any business.
“The Origins of Summit”
Most people are surprised to hear that the original summit was formed as a mastermind, which I simply decided to open up to the public – not as a bunch of interviews or a list-building venture.
Yes, I interviewed my guests.
And YES, I definitely grew my mailing list.
But the mindset, with which I approached my virtual summit, was based on serving the audience of like-minded people and allowing them to connect, collaborate, and learn together!
People have been wanting me to teach summits for YEARS, but I’ve been kind of ignoring it. There are quite a few people who teach this topic already, so why another training?
Here’s why I FINALLY decided to teach it this year…
* Most summits fall flat or fail – and I know exactly WHY and how to fix it!
* Many people feel it’s too complex – and as a “queen of simplicity” I know I can make it simple!
* I invented telesummit, so it kind of feels strange for me not to teach it
Next month I am going to open doors to my brand new program called “Summits Made Simple”, and finally teach how to do telesummits and virtual summits the RIGHT way! The way they originally have been intended to be run!
So if you want to create a profitable game-changing virtual summit that everyone in your niche will be talking about, stay tuned for details soon!
