Rich or Pretty? What's Better?

My 6-year old loves spending time in my office. Never mind that I kicked everyone else out by setting up a special "family office" area downstairs, she stills finds a little spot to color or play here.

As she was combing her hair and making another "hairdo" for the gazillionth time yesterday, she asked me a question:

"Mommy, is it better to be rich or pretty?"

Do we talk too much about money in the house? Or who has she been talking to???

The good mommy in me immediately said, "Sweetey, it's better to be healthy!" At least, I know that's what my own mother would've replied.

The business person in me thought, "Yeah, it's better to be healthy...because, then you can become rich AND pretty!"

That's one thing many successful people take for granted - their health. And when they're not feeling so well, their focus and priorities shift. But can we do both? Can we really take care of our health, while building a profitable business?

Coaching business is a lifestyle business, so why do so many coaches end up overstressed, overworked, exhausted and under-rewarded?

I keep thinking about some of the TOP coaches, especially the ones who spoke at the Coaching Telesummit in 2005 and 2006, and the lifestyle habits they shared (Yes! It's habits, because it takes time to train yourself to have a great lifestyle):

- they take 6-12 weeks of vacations a year
- they take Fridays off as self-care or fun days
- they don't take direct phone calls from anyone but paying clients
- their own well-being is priority over anything business-related

Ahhhhh.....What about you?
