That's right! I am now mobile!

I used to be able to only record audio into my microphone or by telephone. And, while that worked for tele-seminars and remote interviews, that didn't help my "local" needs!

I've heard about Olympus digital recorder for years now, and when I heard someone mention it again last week, I just had to get it!

The model I got is called Olympus WS310, the one you see me holding in the photo above. It can record up to 138 hours (in compressed mode), or up to 17 hours of awesome sound quality (here is my sample recording).

Olympus recorder plugs in right into your computer's USB port, no cable needed!

It records in WMA (Windows Media Player) format and can be burnt onto a CD. But you can also convert it to mp3 format for your web site. Just use one of the converters from this web site:

So now I can interview people at live events, on the streets (hopefully NOT! :), and most importantly I will now have something to record my own ideas into while driving or taking a walk. FREE! I am finally FREE of my office!

All kidding aside, this is a great tool for anybody looking to create an information product based on interviewing other people.
