It's My Blog...I Can Whine...Verizon Sucks...
Over the last 72 hours I noticed that my e-mails slowed down by 90%...Definitely something is going on, I thought. After checking with my hosting company, I found out that Verizon, my Internet Service Provider, decided to block all e-mails that come from my web sites - that's about 900+ messages - because the server "decided" it was spam.
After 30 minutes of online chat support, here's what Verizon representative told me:
"I have answered your question. The email was blocked. We delete email at the server. There is no way to retrieve it. There is no one that you can speak to in regards to having this not happen again in the future."
Now, if I tried saying this to my customers, I'd probably lose my business.
I already answered all your questions. Yes, the problem happened. No, we cannot fix it. And no, we can't prevent this from happening in the future.
Pshhhh!
Ok, done whining....Moving on with the rest of my exciting business day! :)
P.S. If you sent me any emails around Thanksgiving, please re-send...Or call Verizon!

That's it?? You're still a Verizon customer?
Hi Howard...
Actually, after seeing the same problem the following weekend, I signed up with gmail.com and forwarded all my web emails to it.
Turns out, gmail has the best delivery rate, they filter spam (but don't delete it!) and even allow you set up a POP mail account so you can still check it in Outlook!
Verizon is still my DSL provider, too much work for switching to cable. But at least I don't have to rely on their e-mail server's mood LOL!
