Skype.com rocks!

Want to call me?

Anyone? :)

Just downloaded and tested www.skype.com with my brother, wanted to see what all the buzz is about.

Now I feel connected to the rest of the world...REALLY!

Haven't tried it? It's free, and you can save money on long distance.

The person you're calling should also have SKYPE program on their computer.

Teach a Course for Barnes & Noble University

If you want to reach wider audience, teach a class for B&N University!

Go to http://university.barnesandnoble.com/campus_life.asp and click on "Teach For Us" link on the left-side menu.

Here is what they say:

"Interested in writing or teaching for Barnes & Noble University®? We're looking for motivated professionals -- teachers, writers, consultants, or experts -- who have a passion for sharing their knowledge with others. If you would like to teach our adult students, we invite you to apply to become a course developer and/or instructor for Barnes & Noble University. Your application will be reviewed by a team of educational experts at Element K LLC, a company that assists Barnes & Noble.com in the running of Barnes & Noble University."

Instructors and course developers get paid to teach classes.

Here is an example of a class someone is teaching:

A Money Management Course for Women

Looks like a combination of telephone sessions and workbook materials, worth checking out.

Is Cutting Costs Harder Than Increasing Revenue?

You betcha!

Ever since I heard this notion at Chris Barrow's seminar, I continue to agree.

If I sit down and wreck my brain over how to cut my expenses, the most I can reduce is probably 25%.

Plus, it's going to a LOT of effort and sacrifice!

It's a lot easier to increase revenue through:

- creating a new product or service for a new source of revenue

- increasing hourly rates and product prices

- launch a new marketing campaign to bring new clients

Every time I think "my costs are too high, close to 50%, I need to figure out a way to reduce it..."

I remember what Chris Barrow said, and start thinking with a different direction.

Bingo!

When I can't read, I listen - books on tape to the rescue!

Looks like I am all set for my trip to Philadelphia in June for an entrepreneur's "thinktank."

What's a road trip without listening material?

Never-ending!

But with my great selection of books on tape, I am guaranteed 2 hours of of fun.

What did I get at Borders over the weekend?

- "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. I started reading it at least 3 times, and quit after about 20 pages of forced reading. I hope that listening to it will be much more enjoyable.

- "The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas Stanley and William Danko. Heard a lot about it, but never seem to find them to sit down and actually read.

- "Good to Great" by Jim Collins (read by the author!) - the subtitle intrigued me: "Why Some Companies Make the Leap, and Others Don't" - plus someone recommended the book in the past.

And finally...

- Meditations by Shakti Gawain - I want to finally experience what so many people have been telling me about, I think I may be ready. Of course, not for the road trip! I think I may actually start this week.

This is how I "read" the entire Danielle Steel and Dean Koontz - driving to college and back for 2 hours every day. Yep... My knowledge of modern American literature comes from audiobooks.

Thank GOD for books on tape!
