"God Help" European Life Coaches

Another "great" article from Scottman, a Scottish newspaper.

Makes me wonder if connecting newspaper publishers with local coaching organizations in Europe would help shift this unfavorable thinking...

Here is the excerpt from the article:

"Soon we will be paying people just to be our friends. Oh, I forgot. We do pay people to be our friends. They’re called life coaches.

My sister has one. She’s called Kate and before she became a life coach she and my sister used to chat for hours. Since Kate became a life coach they still chat for hours but the only difference is that a few days after the chat my sister now receives a hefty invoice through the post.

No kidding! Why not stop phoning Kate? Why not phone a friend who isn’t a life coach and have the same conversation for free?

That’s what I used to think, anyway, back when I was an unreconstructed, anti-entrepreneurial killjoy.

Now I have seen the light. If someone wants to escape their boring job and re-package themselves as a service provider then why shouldn’t they? They deserve our support, especially if they are friends.

And, yes, our cash too. They’re the ones who have gone out on a limb; the least we can do is offer them an arm and a leg."

How about inviting local reporters to participate in a coaching group, or ask them to do the before-and-after interviews with the actual participants...

Virtual Networking Event? Yep, that's ACCPOW Coaching Tele-Summit!

David Steele says in his interview on Viral Networking with Bonnie Lowe

"I recently participated in a telesummit put on by the Association Of Coaches & Consulting Professionals on the Web, founded by Milana Leshinsky. She invited the top names in internet marking for coaches to participate. It was a great group of experts, and it was organized just like a conference is organized, with different times for different events. But instead of showing up at a hotel, people called in on the telephone.

"The thing that’s amazing is that she set this all up - great vision, great mission, great model—and did not market it at all. She let her presenters know that they needed to market it to their lists and that they would receive a significant portion of the registration fee for doing that. The commission was something like 50%. I sent announcements about it to my list; everyone else participating sent announcements to their lists. The bridge line capacity was limited to about 200 people, and we got plenty of takers.

“It was fun and it was very effective. Every presenter was an expert in their field, and they had a lot to say, a lot to offer. It was really rich in information, content and ideas. And it was totally virtual, marketed totally by networking, put together by networking."

The Other Reason to Have a Coaching Web Site...

A web site is not only great for promoting and building a coaching practice...

Developing a web site also helps organize and clarify your own thoughts!

It forces you to THINK through the process of explaning your programs to clients...

...guarantee you'll offer

...length of complimentary sessions

...pricing sessions

And so much more! So creating a coaching web site is a MUST-take step, because you'll refer to it yourself all the time.

I do!

Teleclasses ROCK! But only if YOU do!

Wow, what a great tele-seminar on blogging I had, with my virtual business partner Travis Greenlee last night!

I think he'll be my official greeter, the guy just knows how to energize the whole group, and most importantly ME!

I realized something last night, too...If I am well prepared, rested, and ready to roll, my teleclasses are SOOOOOOO much more fun and smooth!

If I am not prepared, it's easy to stumble and lose that energy level, so crucial to teleclasses.

You'll never know if I am wearing my pajamas while leading a teleclass, but you'll certainly know if I am down or just had a huge lunch LOL!
