I Loved Doing It! Does This Mean It's My "Genius Work?"

Judy Feld talks about doing your "genius work" - doing what you're best at and you love doing it so much you don't notice the time go by!

Well, I just completed producing the 60-minute "Highlights of ACCPOW Coaching Tele-Summit" CD, which I'll be giving away, and didn't notice how 4 hours just flew by!

Awesome!

ICF Doesn't Make it Easy to Get Certified! So Why Don't You Tell Your Clients That???

A minimum of 310 coaching hours to become an ACC (Associate Certified Coach) and 2,700 hours of coaching to become an MCC (Master Certified Coach).

I bet your clients and prospects don't know that!

I would certainly be impressed as a potential client to see that someone spent 3-5 years in training to coach. That would instantly remove all the hesitation and trust issues for those prospects who read Europian newspapers...heh...where coaching is considered almost a "fly-by-night" profession.

PUT IT ON YOUR WEB SITE!

Make yourself stand apart from the rest of the coaches, because the PROSPECT DOESN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!

Chained to your desk? Get a life! (Inc.com)

" Some entrepreneurs can work 40 hours a week and have a thriving company," says Inc.com in this week's issue.

Well, I say - I want to work 20 hours a week and have a thriving company!

There should be systems in place, so that taking time off doesn't hurt your customer service skills or your income, but I think it's totally possible. Call me a dreamer, I really think your income isn't limited by the number of hours a week you work. It's what you do during those hours...

So what does Inc.com think about managing the amount of time you work?

"We've discovered six steps to getting a life--while building a business."

1. Learn to Say No
2. Focus on Key Tasks
(priorities!)
3. Delegate, Delegate (ooh, love this one!)
4. Redefine Yourself (in other words, your business is NOT your life!)
5. Make Personal Commitments Concrete (what's most important to you?)
6. Develop Systems (Ha! Already knew that! And, developed mine!)

Our Successors Will Be Laughing at Us!

I just had a vision of business owners and marketing experts laughing at us in the year 2050.

"Didn't they know that using red links in their copy was killing their sales? HAHAHA!"

"Were they dumb to send out a mailing to their lists on Thursday after 3pm? HAHAHA!"

"How could they not know that using the words 'Click Here' would just confuse their visitor? HAHAHA!"

"Why would they be stupid enough to put a border around their web site! HAHAHA!"

Just like inventing flu vaccine, or the public opinion on smoking, it may take decades for people to test and understand the effects of certain things we do now.

Our successors will laugh at our inability or struggles to make successful web sites. What we spend months to perfect now, they'll know how to do just because it'll be in the text books. It'll be the one and only possible way to do things, and we just don't know it yet!

Life is life. Business is business. But sometimes I wish we had all the answers NOW!

P.S. By the way, I am not suggesting at all that the things I mentioned above are true, I am just speculating, a "what-if" kinda thing, and we just don't know it right now.
