Something About Blogging....

When I was a little girl, I loved to journal.

My first entry was made when I was in 5th grade, and I wrote about my grandfather's passing.

As I look through my journals (remarkably, I saved them for 20 years, and even brought them with me across the ocean from another country!), I realize that most of my entries are filled with heartache, broken friendships, failing grades, teachers who were jerks, my best friend moving away... as if my life was a disaster!

Not at all - my childhood wasn't terrible...

I just journaled when I felt sad, angry or anxious. I needed strong negative emotions to force myself to sit down and write.

Why?

Because I could share my positive emotions with my friends and family, but would need more ways to channel the negative emotions. That's when my diary was my best friend.

My last entry was right before I got married. I never picked up my journal to write in it again.

Oh, I have plenty of things to complain about, I just do it with my husband! :)

But what about blogging?

When am I moved to blog?

There is something about blogging that becomes a habit, an addiction, a way of life.

You read something interesting in the paper, you blog.

You observe and interesting trend, you blog.

You watch a stupid commercial, you blog.

Do you find yourself blogging more about positive or negative experiences?

What moves YOU to blog? Care to share?

What moves me to blog? Hmmm, good question. I have two blogs for two different audiences. I find that I blog for the same reason: to help them by sharing my thoughts and experiences and hoping that they will glean something which they can use.

Whether it is a positive experience or one that is not as positive, I use those experiences to learn something. Once I have figured out what my lesson is, I share. It is addicting.

I blog because I have always had a passion for gathering information, bringling the varying pieces together, putting my own spin on it and then sharing it with others.

Blogging allows me to do this in a an easy and quick way.
