No Passion - No Results!

I used to love doing graphic design...
I could spend hours perfecting a logo or a web site header.

But since I shifted my entire business around, my heart is now somewhere else.

Once in a while, though, when a new client or a new project comes along, I tell myself: "I can do this, I don't need to hire a graphic designer. I used to do this all the time!"

So I open my Adobe Photoshop, and start creating.

20 minutes later, I realize that I'm struggling...The colors are not right, the slogan is in the wrong place, and the whole thing is just "uck!"

I give up and close Photoshop.

I email my graphic designer and tell her I need a CD album cover.

The next day, I receive a design that blows me A-W-A-Y!

The colors are right, the design is beautiful, and everything is just where it belongs.

And it's so simple, it seems that anyone could do that!

Why was I struggling?

I remembered...

My heart is not in graphic design. I feel it's a complete waste of my time to try and come up with a perfect cover, when someone else can do it ten times faster, and twenty times better!

Because that's what they do!

Moral of the story: Be where the passion is, the rest will come.
