When I can't read, I listen - books on tape to the rescue!
Looks like I am all set for my trip to Philadelphia in June for an entrepreneur's "thinktank."
What's a road trip without listening material?
Never-ending!
But with my great selection of books on tape, I am guaranteed 2 hours of of fun.
What did I get at Borders over the weekend?
- "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. I started reading it at least 3 times, and quit after about 20 pages of forced reading. I hope that listening to it will be much more enjoyable.
- "The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas Stanley and William Danko. Heard a lot about it, but never seem to find them to sit down and actually read.
- "Good to Great" by Jim Collins (read by the author!) - the subtitle intrigued me: "Why Some Companies Make the Leap, and Others Don't" - plus someone recommended the book in the past.
And finally...
- Meditations by Shakti Gawain - I want to finally experience what so many people have been telling me about, I think I may be ready. Of course, not for the road trip! I think I may actually start this week.
This is how I "read" the entire Danielle Steel and Dean Koontz - driving to college and back for 2 hours every day. Yep... My knowledge of modern American literature comes from audiobooks.
Thank GOD for books on tape!

I too listen because of time constraints, and I find that it works.
All three of those books are excellent. Good to Great by far has been pivital in my world. As I work with companies, I can help them discover what their "Hedge Hog" is (Main Goal), are the right people on the bus and in the right seats, and what's working.
For me it has been a life transforming book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
